Here are some common ignition key faults or issues we encounter:

Key Worn from Use: In many cases we find the old key has worn and so we can cut a new key blade at the roadside and see if the fresh cut key will allow the ignition to turn.

Steering Lock Fault: Sometimes the steering locks built into the ignition on your vehicle may become faulty and disable the key turning in the ignition. This is especially common with VW, Audi, Skoda & Seat Vehicles which would need a new ignition to be installed by our locksmiths. We carry stock of Ignition Housings on these vehicles due to them being the most common vehicles that have this ignition not turning issue.

Debris in the Ignition: If your Ignition has, over time, accumulated debris inside then this could cause the ignition to stop turning as it should. To combat this our expert auto locksmiths will clear out the debris using specialist tools so that we can free up the ignition lock and have you back on the road in no time.

Key Stuck in the Ignition: A common issue with Ignition problems is that your key may get stuck in the ignition. Sometimes this can happen with the ignition on and furthermore the car can even lock itself whilst the key is in this position. Although this may be very worrying for you, rest assured we can provide an immediate response and gain access to the vehicle with no damage and remove the key from the ignition.
